Azerbaijan Railways introduces differentiated fare on Baku-Sumgait-Baku train

January 25, Fineko/ CJSC Azerbaijani Railways (ADY) has announced changes in the cost of tickets for electric train Baku-Sumgait-Baku.

ADY reported that passengers of this electric train are using paper and plastic cards.

«Given the problems the passengers have with paper tickets (because of their rapid wearing) when passing through the turnstiles, as well as to eliminate fully queues at ticket offices and kiosks and attract passengers to use plastic cards, we made a decision to introduce a difference in the price between paper tickets and plastic cards,» ADY said in a statement.

Besides, in order to bring demand and supply into line, tariffs for traveling in business class wagons of those trains will be adjusted.

The new prices will come into force from 28 January.
