The meeting was held in Urumqi. According to it, the rail transportation volume between Kazakhstan and China amounted to 13,979,000 tons or by 38% more than a year earlier.

Kazakhstan transported 8,500,000 tons of cargo to China by railroad in 2018.

The countries approved the forecast for cargo transportation for 2019 at 15,700,000 tons. Additionally, the parties agreed on transportation of grains in big bags and specialized cars for grain transportation through the Alashankou and Horgos stations. They also agreed on transportation of 500,000 vegetable oil in tank cars from Kazakhstan and Russia to China  through the border crossing Alashankou-Dostyk with the rearrangement of trucks at the station Dostyk.
